He urgently needed medical attention. The referee decided to start the match without Rajko Mitic. Zlatko Cajkovski became the captain of Yugoslavia. Rajko Mitic entered the game 7-8 minutes after the kick-off. Yugoslavia missed the first goal, playing with ten men. Yugoslavia goalkeeper Srdjan Mrkusic played until 26 minutes in a white sweater and white shorts. The Brazilians also played in exactly the same color uniform. The referee then allowed the goalkeeper to put on a different jersey. Srdjan Mrkusic continued the match wearing a red jersey with the number 3 on the back. Yugoslav defender Branko Stankovic played with the same number, but in a blue jersey. |
